For General Motors, the China market was not even 5% of its global sales , few years back. But in the last two years, while GM sales in US , Europe and Japan have crashed, their sales in China have been growing at fast pace.
For the first half of 2009, the China sales of General Motors is up by a massive 38%, which is a marvelous achievement at a time when US sales has crashed by over 30% in the same period.
Even in absolute terms, the sales at 814442 units is substantial and will go a long way in helping GM regain the global leadership position post the restructuring.
