Brazil worried about excess US dollar flow
The foreign exchange problem for Brazil seems to be never ending. The country which was facing acute shortage of US dollars just three quarters back to pay for basic imports for the country, is now facing the other extreme stage of the problem.
Yes it is unable to manage the massive inflow of cheap US dollars which is taking the Brazil stock markets and also the real estate prices to record highs. As a corrective measure, the country is planning to tax the American Depositary Shares issued by Brazil companies.
The problem will only get marginally reduced by this measure, as foreign investors would still risk investing cheap US dollar into Brazil firms for short term profits.
