EU antitrust fines over five companies
Some five companies which includes LG display,Taiwanese Group AU Optronics will be fined due to EU antitrust regulators. The EU fines regulators fine will be given given next week for fixing a prices for the display panel. The European commission is that unit which handles the regulatory affairs charged the five companies during last year. The fines was as the five companies faced was the companies breached the EU laws over the restrictive business practices.
The sector of the EU laws over the five companies was being investigated by the regulators around the world. During December 8the fines will be unveiled by the commission reveled the sources related to the matter. At that time the five companies were however not identified by the EU watchdog but the companies confirmed the charges. The five companies which were to give the fines include LG Display,Global AU,Chi-Mei Optoelectronic Corp and Taiwan largest LCD firm.
However the first LCD maker Sam-sung will not be fined as Sam-sung alerted the commission to the Cartel said the sources. A copy of the charge-sheet was even received by Philips but Philips confirmed it was not directly involved. In the year march 2009 Dutch company Philips sold its shares which it had with the joint venture of LG electronics. A similar previous investigation showed by the US department of Justice sme eight companies were fined and paid about $890 million for price fixing.
