China quake victims still under rubbles due to equipment shortage

The remote areas of northwest China saw many rescuers. The rescuers were in the job of rescuing the earth quake victims. The earth quake left some 100,000 people homeless and killed 600 people dead. Thursday the weather being cold and lack of oxygen did not make the rescuers out of their work. The magnitude of the earth quake was 7.1which hit the Yushu country on Wednesday.

Yushu country is situated in the Qinghai province which saw an earth quake which bought the rubble of the buildings. This has been a deadliest earth quake in China within two years say officials. Many arrangements have been made for the vital needs and medical teams are being set up to help the people. The freezing temperatures and thousands of people without shelter are left in the night. There are many people left without food and shelter and are suffers due to the earth quake.

Many people have lost their dear ones and grieving without knowing whether they are dead or alive. The perished people number increase from 400 to 617whicjh includes dozens of children. The number of injured has increased to9, 110 official release said. The toll of death will still rise says the report more than 300 are still under the rubbles. There is a short of medical supplies, large digging equipments and food.

Homes must be secure. Otherwise, one would not have any peace of mind even if one were to earn a billion dollars working at office. One has to also travel because of various work at office. Barack Obama himself did not expect to get the coveted Nobel Peace Prize for the year, but the awarding did happen few days back to the surprise of over 50% of the American citizens. We need to first understand that Obama inherited a pathetic backlog on all economic and global peace issues.
He had to tackle a tough Iran and North Korea, and his efforts in bringing both these countries to negotiation seems to be paying off. We cannot expect him or anybody else for that matter, to bring these arrogant countries to negotiation table within a year or two.
He also has taken some bold initiatives on the Israel-Palestine front and we need to give credit to his special efforts for the present reduction in tension levels in the region. He might eventually succeed in promoting peace in the region in the long run.
Also his efforts on bringing the Muslim world to get into believing the western world is also making some headway.
He has also been able to get Russia into believing US, by abandoning the missile shield plan near Russian bordering European countries.
And Obama has vowed to double up his special efforts for world peace in the remaining four years of his tenure, for which we all need to wish him all the very best.

Obama to take important decisions on Afghanistan policy

The time has come for the Obama administration to start acting decisively on the Afghanistan issue which has been confronting the United States for the last eight years. Obama is planning for a withdrawal of forces gradually from Afghanistan and Iraq region, but the recent spate of increased terrorist attacks in the region have made Obama to sit and review the policy.
He has to think about pushing in more troops on short term missions to Afghanistan and Iraq, which might face massive resistance at home. But maintaining status quo would also cost the US and NATO forces badly, as the Afghanistan forces head has gone on record that the war might be lost if more troops are not sent immediately.
And that would also cost few more billion dollars which US cannot afford now.
That decision also could widen the gap between Obama and the Muslim world which is now starting to look at him with suspicion.

Australian police arrest 4 terror suspects

Four terror suspects, who had planned for a massive suicide attack on Australian army barracks, were arrested by the Australian police yesterday. All four of them are of foreign origin, with three of them from Somalia and having links with Al Qaida indirectly.
The Australian police said that these suspects were under monitoring for several months and finally they were arrested just before they were about to execute their plan.

Twin blasts rock Jakarta

The Indonesian capital , Jakarta, today was rocked by two suicide bombings in two of the prominent star hotels that host foreigners. As of now, nine people have been killed in the blasts including one foreigner, reported to be from New Zealand.
