Many people around the world are suffering with blindness. The blindness has many reasons but one of the reasons is retinitis pigmentosa. The scientist from the University of Melbourne has come out with a solution for those affected due to retinitis. The bionic vision is going to provide vision to many and is a reality. The bionic project research is happening from past ten years and has created a good outcome.

The restore of vision to blind, a dream come true to many. The bionic vision BVA had recently received a reward of $42 million from federal government. The two university involved in the development of bionic eye was university of Melbourne and UNSW. The lead professor was from the graduate school of engineering at UNSW, Professor Nigel Lovell. The professor said the reward currency will help them in fast tracking the development and human testing of bionic eye.

The bionic eye has bought a pride to the country and bringing many skillful scientists together. The project plans to employ some 20 more scientist in the project and boost the progress of the project. The bionic eye uses a camera with video which will be fixed in the patients glass and capture images. The images are converted to electrical impulses and stimulate the electrodes. The electrodes are fixed in the retina; the retina is stimulated by the signals. The bionic eye is going to be used for human trials in the two years.
