The Twenty-Twenty format of world cup cricket is happening in UK and has so far thrown up lot of surprises already. The world champions in Cricket for the last two decades, the Australians, were sent of in the qualifying round itself.
Then the last T-20 champion cup winner , The Indian team, was sent out before reaching quarter finals last week.

Yesterday, the favorites, the South African team, were sent out of the tournament by a relatively weak Pakistan team in the first semi-finals. This has helped the Pakistan team to enter the finals to be held on Sunday.
The second semi-final match is happening today between West Indies team and the Sri Lankan team. Sri Lankan team scored a healthy 158 runs , by batting first.
West Indies might find it difficult to win the match, given the slow movement of the ball in the last ten overs. The winning team of today’s match will fight the final match versus Pakistan on Sunday.
Two decades back, people used to watch only five day matches , and West Indies team was the leader always. But in the 1990s , the one day matches with 50 overs for each team, became more popular.
And in the last two years, a further short version of the game i.e, 20 overs for each team, became popular, and is set to dominate the cricket lovers for another decade at least.
